A town of a few hundred houses
Bow Mar is one of the smallest incorporated places on this side of the metro, a couple of hundred homes on acre and half-acre lots wrapped around two private reservoirs. There is no commercial district in Bow Mar at all, so every order here is either a homeowner project or a private gathering. Because Bow Mar lots are deep and heavily planted, placement is about finding a spot the family can live beside for weeks, not just a spot the truck can reach.
Long renovations on mature properties
The original Bow Mar houses date to the 1950s and 1960s, and the current wave of work is whole-house renovation, pool replacement and detached studio construction. Those Bow Mar projects run three to nine months, so the unit that arrives in February is often still there in September with a standing weekly service.
Screening matters more in Bow Mar than almost anywhere we serve, and we will set a unit behind a hedge, on the far side of a garage or at the back of a circular drive to keep it out of the sightline. Crews in Bow Mar appreciate a handwashing station set next to it, because the house water is frequently off.
Lakeside ground and the seasons
Ground close to the Bow Mar shorelines is soft, and the soil across the rest of the town is the same swelling clay that runs through this whole stretch of Arapahoe County. A unit set near the Bow Mar water line will settle unevenly within a week, so drivers keep to the drive, the apron or a plywood pad.
Summer thunderstorms build fast over the reservoirs, and the tree cover that makes Bow Mar attractive also drops limbs when hail and wind arrive together. After those storms the Bow Mar orders are tree crews and fence contractors, usually one unit for a week or two at a time.
